Better Testing

Event Details

t’s time for another Brighton Java meeting. This month we are going to have a couple of talks looking at testing and how to make your tests better and more fun to produce.

The Perfect Unit Test

Unit testing is an essential part of a software developer’s toolkit, but they’re tricky to get right. James Burt from Crunch will be talking about some of the pitfalls and anti-patterns around writing test classes. Is it possible to write the perfect unit test?

Testing Spring MVC using MockMVC and Groovy

Spring 3.2 recently introduced the new MockMVC framework, which allows easier testing of MVC components in your Spring MVC projects with a fluent API. In this talk David Pashley from CodingCraft will demonstrate how to use this new framework, and demonstrate some of the advantages of using Groovy to write your tests in.

Please RSVP so we know how much beer and snacks to buy.

As usual, we’ll be open from 7 for drinks and chat, with the talks starting a little after 7:30pm. We’re open to people of all abilities and especially welcome any first-timers. Hope to see you there!
